Incredible timing. Wow.
I can’t believe I never wrote a post about GMod.
GMod (short for Garry’s Mod) is a sandbox game based on the Half-Life 2 engine; it’s really awesome, you can do ANYTHING you want, and it’s also fully customisable. You can add weapons, tools, anything. Literally!
Which brings me to the new Tigsource (the independant gaming source) competition: make an old bootleg edition of a new or popular game. Entires so far have included Pac-Person Text Adventure (Pac-Man), 50% Biological Longevity (Half-Life 2) and Buddy Base II (Team Fortress 2).
The story goes that in the golden age of gaming, lots of people wrote crappy imitations of games and sold them on the black market. These games were often poorly written and didn’t have good quality sound or graphics.

So, my entry?
GORDON THE PLUMBER: FOR THE RETROGAME ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM.
A Mario mockup! That’s right! You can even play as his brother, WILLIAM.
It’s largely unfinished (need new tilesets, moustaches on sprites, more levels and a lockup level), and it’s written with Python and the excellent RETRO GAME SYSTEM.
